More arduino hacking…  got it to trigger my camera using an IR led.  pretty cool!  This is hooked up to a button, but I am thinking of hooking it up to a motion detector to get some random pictures of the cats throughout the day.

Melissa and I went to the Maker Faire in San Mateo last weekend.  It was a lot of fun (I’ll post some pictures soon).  I was inspired to finally start messing around with some electronics projects.  I picked up an Andruino kit, and here’s the first example project — a simple push button controlling an LED.

sparklines @ developerworks
My java sparklines library got a mention in an IBM developerworks article on Java run-time monitoring — pretty cool!  Now I really need to release that next version and clean up the docs…..

this is my cheesesteak
Just came back from a very rainy night at the nyc food film festival where we saw This is My Cheesesteak and ate cheesesteaks from Tony Luke’s (he came up from Philly). The film was actually pretty good.  I even picked up a copy of the DVD.  The next time...

1429 beers →
I wish I had come up with this idea — a searchable online listing of 1429 beers and 241 beer menus in new york, growing daily.  Found them from this NY Times article. Here’s where you can get some of my (recent) favorite beers: brooklyn monster (or the 2001), and lagunitas censored ale.
